As part of their commitment to promoting employee wellbeing and supporting national sports initiatives, the Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs and the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) organised Bahrain Sports Day, in the presence of H.E. Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, President of the Electricity and Water Authority, and H.E. Mr. Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs. The event reflects the organisations' commitment to fostering a culture of physical activity and encouraging a healthy, active and balanced lifestyle in the workplace.

The event featured a variety of sporting activities, including a padel tournament with the participation of employees from the Ministry and EWA across different sectors, in addition to walking activities, dedicated fitness sessions and health screenings. The activities were held in an interactive atmosphere aimed at strengthening institutional engagement and teamwork.

During the event, H.E. Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, President of the Electricity and Water Authority, affirmed that organising Bahrain Sports Day reflects the Authority's commitment to promoting employee health and raising awareness of the importance of physical activity as an essential part of everyday life. He also highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain's continued sporting achievements under the prosperous reign of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, may God protect him, and under the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him. He noted that this support has reinforced Bahrain's position as a leading model in empowering youth and advancing the sports sector.

His Excellency also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. He noted that the initiatives and programmes implemented under their leadership have contributed to supporting national talent, developing sports infrastructure and promoting sport as a way of life within a sustainable institutional environment.

For his part, H.E. Mr. Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, stated that Bahrain Sports Day embodies an advanced national vision that integrates the concepts of health and quality of life into the institutional work environment while promoting sport as a sustainable way of life that contributes to building a more vibrant and productive society. He noted that this vision continues to flourish under the prosperous reign of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, may God protect him, and under the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him.

His Excellency further explained that the significant progress witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the sports and youth sectors is a direct reflection of the national vision led by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, complemented by the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. He affirmed that these national initiatives have strengthened community sport, enhanced the work environment and improved institutional performance, supporting the Kingdom's sustainable development goals and reinforcing Bahrain's position as a leading model for investing in human capital.

The organisation of this event reflects the Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs' and the Electricity and Water Authority's commitment to supporting national initiatives that promote public health and place people at the heart of sustainable development as one of its key pillars.
