EWA Customer Services Director: Increase in Fixed Monthly Direct Debit Registrations in January 2026

Al-Jamea explained that registration indicators for January reflect strong customer engagement with the service and its clear mechanism for settling electricity and water bills through a fixed monthly direct debit, which helps customers manage their financial commitments more effectively throughout the year. He also noted a significant increase in newly registered accounts within the subsidized residential category, recording a 160% rise compared to the previous month, reflecting heightened customer interest in benefiting from the service.

He added that this trend aligns with EWA’s ongoing efforts to enhance its services and expand the range of digital solutions available to customers, with the aim of simplifying payment procedures and improving the overall customer experience. Al-Jamea emphasized that the Authority will continue to offer the Fixed Monthly Direct Debit Service through its approved channels, while further raising awareness of the service mechanism and its benefits to meet customer needs and expectations.
