This service is designed to ensure that governmental entities and developers comply with the standards and requirements set by the Authority when undertaking infrastructure works for water distribution networks. It aims to strengthen regulatory oversight, ensure the highest levels of service quality for customers, and safeguard the integrity of existing water distribution networks.

This service ensures that government entities and developers comply with the authority’s standards and requirements when executing infrastructure works related to water distribution networks. It aims to strengthen regulatory oversight, uphold the highest standards of service quality for customers, and protect the integrity of existing water distribution networks.

Application Process

  1. Submit application and required documents at EWA’s Customer Care Building in Um Al Hassam.
  2. Receive submission acknowledgment email; resubmission may be required if any documents are missing or need revision.
  3. Receive approval letter by email.

Documents Required

  1. Water Network Design Approval
  2. Approved Master Plan and Subdivision
  3. Detailed Demand Calculations and Breakdown Tables
  4. Design drawings which include the following:
    • Combined utility cross sections at various locations and where services cross each other (in CAD and PDF format)
    • Utility Corridors in hard and soft copy
    • Network Design Basis & Parameters
    • Water Distribution Network Layout showing all components
    • Hydraulic Model and Network Analysis

Service Steps

  1. Appoint Engineering Office
    Appoint a CRPEP-licensed Engineering Office to prepare the network design.
  2. Submit Application
    Submit your application for Network Design Approval and all required documents at CCB (Um Al Hassam).
  3. Application Review
    Our team will review your submittals. If any requirements are missing or need revision, you'll be asked to resubmit the necessary information.
  4. Approval Release
    Once your design is approved, an email containing the official approval letter will be sent to you.
  5. Proceed to Asset Adoption Compliance
    Upon receiving the Network Design Approval, you may proceed with the Asset Adoption Compliance.

Service Tip

Before applying for the service, applicants must ensure that all requirements set by UPDA are fulfilled, including any necessary consultations. In addition, any conditions raised by EWA during the consultation process (conducted through UPDA) must be fully addressed to ensure compliance.

The Material Approval Certificate (MAC) serves as formal validation that materials supplied for private projects comply with established quality and technical standards. Obtaining this certificate reflects the contractor’s commitment to delivering approved materials that meet project specifications, thereby reinforcing their credibility and reliability.

Application Process

  1. Submit Water Material Type Approval Form and required documents via email to dir-wdd-office@ewa.bh.
  2. Receive submission acknowledgment email; resubmission may be required if any documents missing or need revision.
  3. Receiving initial approval to proceed with material purchase; site inspection will be conducted upon delivery of material.
  4. Receive Material Acceptance Certificate by email upon successful inspection.
  5. Failure to submit required documents of sample with allotted time will result in rejection of the request.

  3. Complete Type Test Certificates
  4. Material Data Sheet with requested material highlighted

  2. Application Review
    Await submission confirmation, our team will review your submittals. If any requirements are missing or need revision, you'll be asked to resubmit the necessary information.
  3. Material Procurement
    Upon receiving initial approval, proceed with the procurement of the approved materials.
  4. Site Inspection
    Ensure that the materials are delivered to site and ready for inspection by EWA’s designated team.
  5. Material Compliance
    The delivered materials will be evaluated during inspection. Ensure they match the submitted and approved specifications.
  6. Certification
    Based on the inspection results, EWA will issue the final decision. If approved, the Material Acceptance Certificate will be emailed to you.
