Electricity and Water Affairs Minister:
EWA Opens Exceptional Retroactive Registration for Fixed Monthly Billing Service Until 31 October 2026
In line with the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) is offering Bahraini citizens an exceptional opportunity to register for the Fixed Monthly Billing Service for their first residence, with retroactive effect from May 2026.
His Excellency Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, confirmed that EWA has begun implementing His Royal Highness's order. Upon registration, customers’ average monthly bills will be calculated, and the full difference between their bills issued from May to September 2026 and their average monthly bill will be credited to their EWA accounts. This credit balance will be used towards their bills. He noted that customers must register by Saturday, 31 October 2026, to benefit from this exceptional opportunity.
The Minister stated that His Royal Highness's order reflects his continued attention to citizens' needs and commitment to developing initiatives and solutions that promote family stability and provide Bahraini households with greater opportunities to benefit from available services.
His Excellency added that the Fixed Monthly Billing Service offers customers flexibility in paying their bills, as registration does not involve automatic deductions from their bank accounts. Customers may pay their bills using their preferred payment method from EWA's approved payment channels.
The Fixed Monthly Billing Service allows Bahraini citizens to pay a fixed monthly amount for electricity and water at their first residence, based on their average monthly bills. This helps households manage their monthly expenses and maintain more predictable billing amounts throughout the year.
