Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received a delegation from German energy company, German Lighting, and discussed with them areas of cooperation in projects implemented by the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA).
The two sides also discussed the possibility of taking part in future opportunities and a desire for the company to invest in Bahrain by setting up a $10 million factory for energy saving LED lamps and providing jobs.
Dr. Mirza praised the company’s efforts and good and experience in the field of LED lamps and the lighting industry and said the EWA welcomed and encouraged investments that would lead to citizens and getting the benefits of rationalisation of electricity consumption through energy-saving technologies.
Company officials thanked Dr. Mirza and EWA officials for the reception and the hospitality as ell as all support and facilities to make it possible to invest in the electricity and water areas.
EWA Executive Vice President of Distribution and Customer Services Engineer Adnan Mohammed Fakhro, EWA Rana Mohsin Salloum and Ryan Sheriff of the Economic Development Board were present.
