Energy Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza visited the Future Energy City on the sidelines of his visit to the UAE Capital, to take part in Abu Dhabi Sustainability 2016.
He was received by several officials who gave the minister a presentation on the energy city's role in the diversification of the local economy and strengthening Abu Dhabi's leadership in the energy sector.
Dr. Mirza said the city is an ideal platform regionally and globally in the development of clean technology and innovation. He said the visit reflects the importance of cooperation in the promotion of sustainable development by adopting renewable energy solutions. He said the city is also a model of realistic applications of clean and renewable energy and provides a unique platform for the development of renewable energy. The minister said his visit highlighted the UAE and Bahrain's leading role in fulfilling their obligations in the promotion and deployment of renewable energy.
Dr. Mirza said bilateral cooperation between Bahrain and the UAE would continue to benefit the development and promotion of renewable energy opportunities, especially solar energy in Bahrain.
