Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received Sudan’s Kordofan State Minister of Urban Planning and Water Resources Dr. Babeker Ahmed Babeker.
The Sudanese minister was in Bahrain to take part in the Second International Conference of Green Cities, Sustainable Buildings and Renewable Energy.
The two ministers discussed bilateral cooperation in the fields of water resources and how they could benefit from mutual experience and implement a comprehensive water strategy among Arab countries.
They also spoke of the plans and programmes of renewable energy in both countries and its achievements.
The visiting minister said his visit came as part of Bahrain's pioneering experience in encouraging clean energy investment, as well as the significant steps taken by the government to sustain water resources, prepare an integrated national plan for sustainable water strategy and reduce water losses.
He expressed his desire to send a technical team to take a closer look at these experiences and to activate further cooperation.
He thanked Dr. Mirza for the visit and the invitation to participate in the conference. He also thanked the minister and officials for the warm reception and the hospitality.
